We offer full-service publishing services where Press 49 does all the work for the author. If an author wants to self-publish under their own imprint, then we also offer consulting services in addition to editing, typesetting, and cover design services.

Once an author provides Press 49 with their manuscript, it undergoes developmental editing, and the author receives the editor’s comments for their review. The author is at liberty to accept or reject any of the editor’s recommendations. Next, mechanical edits are applied while the design team works on cover options based on extensive information the Press 49 team collects from the author on their cover design ideas. During this time, the team assigns the book’s ISBN, applies for its Library of Congress Control Number, confirms its BISAC codes, creates an SEO description, writes a press release, and creates social media blurbs and graphics. Once approving the cover design, the author receives a proof of their book and can request additional changes. Those changes are applied, then a proofreader conducts a review of the book to catch any lingering errors. Next, the author receives a second proof for their review and approval. And all that’s left to do is to promote and publish!

We can publish an author in six months from the date we receive a completed manuscript.

Absolutely! Authors retain 100% of the rights to their intellectual property, and the Press 49 team submits an application to the United States Copyright Office with the author listed as the claimant.

Press 49 authors’ books receive global distribution. They are distributed on the websites of Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Porchlight Books, Walmart, Goodreads, and others.

When an author partners with Press 49, we provide a comprehensive marketing plan, we release a professional written press release that has the author and their book appearing in major media, we create custom graphics and social media messaging for the author as well as the book’s sell sheet, and we make our own posts about the author’s exciting news!

Yes! (Our owner was self-published before launching Press 49!) If an author wants to self-publish or wants to publish under their own imprint, then we offer consulting services with pricing starting at $2,999.

Press 49 publishes non-fiction books in the areas of leadership, business, entrepreneurship, and personal and professional development, entrepreneurship as well as memoirs and a wide array of industry-specific topics.

Our full-service publishing option requires a $19,999 investment; a 50% deposit is required at the time of signing, and the remaining 50% is due eight weeks prior to the author’s publication date. Press 49 also offers a publishing consulting option for authors who want to self-publish or use their own imprint where Press 49 walks the author through every step in the publishing process from start to finish; that investment starts at $2,999.

Press 49 is a hybrid press. And the biggest differences between a vanity press and a hybrid press are value and quality. Both charge a fee to publish an author, but a hybrid publisher, such as Press 49, is selective in what it publishes and, unlike a vanity press, a hybrid press adds significant value in the form of professional-quality editing, design, marketing, and/or distribution. With a vanity press, you are guaranteed to get published, but there is no guarantee that publishing experts will apply a high attention to detail to every aspect of your project.

When you refer an author to Press 49 and they sign on with us for our full-service publishing option, you receive $500. For those clients you refer to us who sign on for one of our two consulting options priced at $2,999 and $4,999, you receive $150 or $250, respectively.
